What psychotherapy can support
Psychotherapy can support a wide range of experiences. Yours doesn't need a label to be worth exploring.
How psychotherapy works
No pressure, no rush. We go at the pace that feels right for you.
We start with a conversation to understand what brings you to therapy.
Together, we explore your experiences, challenges, and goals.
Through insight and support, we work on meaningful change and personal growth.
You gain tools and confidence to navigate life's challenges in your own way.
Our approach
Four commitments shape every session.
We work together as a team. Your voice and goals guide the therapy process.
A warm, supportive space where you are heard and accepted.
You can show up as you are, without fear of judgment.
Psychotherapy is personalized to fit your unique needs, values, and pace.
Dog-Assisted Therapy
For suitable clients, therapy may include the support of our friendly therapy dogs.
Milo and Magnum are simply present in the room. For people who find the first sessions difficult, or who freeze when asked to talk about hard things, having a dog nearby often makes the room easier to be in. Some clients speak more freely with a hand resting on a dog than they manage across a desk.
Ways to access
Choose the setting that feels most comfortable for you.
Secure video sessions from home, from work, or from another country. Useful if travel is hard, if you value the privacy, or if you leave Phuket partway through.
Face to face in a private consulting room at the clinic, with the rest of the medical team on hand if your care needs to extend beyond therapy.
Sessions in your own home, where some people find it easier to speak openly. Availability depends on location and is arranged in advance.
A facilitated group with others working through similar things. Being in a room with people who recognise the experience can reach what individual work sometimes cannot.
The clinic behind your care
Medical Health Clinic Phuket (MHCP) is a licensed medical clinic providing care to local and international patients. Your psychotherapy sits within a clinic that follows international standards of care and maintains hospital partner relationships, including Bumrungrad International and Bangkok Hospital Phuket.
That means your care is backed by an established medical team, clear clinical standards, and hospital partners, the same infrastructure that serves the clinic's other medical services.
Common questions
If something here is still unclear, call or message the clinic and ask. No obligation to book.
No. You can book directly, and you do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or a clear explanation of what is wrong. Many people arrive knowing only that something feels off. Working that out is part of the process, not a prerequisite for it.
English or Thai, whichever you are more comfortable thinking and feeling in. Gem works fluently in both. For many people living away from home, being able to speak in your first language matters more than they expect.
Yes. What you discuss stays between you and your therapist. If it would help for your care to be coordinated with a doctor at the clinic, that only happens with your agreement, and you decide what is shared.
The first session is a conversation. You talk about what brought you here and what you would like to be different, and Gem explains how she works. There is nothing to prepare and no obligation to continue if it does not feel like the right fit.
It depends entirely on what you are working through, and it is discussed openly rather than decided for you. Some people come for a short, focused piece of work. Others stay longer. You are never committed to a fixed course.
Psychotherapy is the work of understanding and changing things through conversation and creative approaches. Psychiatry is medical: assessment, diagnosis and, where it helps, medication. Both are available at MHCP, and many people use only one of them.
Yes. Sessions can be held online, which also means therapy does not have to stop if you leave Phuket, travel for work, or move away partway through.
Often yes. Short-term work can be genuinely useful, particularly during a crisis or a difficult transition, and sessions can continue online once you have left.
We're here to support you, every step of the way.
Call or message to arrange a first appointment. You can ask questions before booking anything, in English or Thai. Psychotherapy is provided at Medical Health Clinic Phuket, with online sessions available.
